Overview:
- Are you a current commercial truck driver ready to work a steady shift and be home every night, or a retired truck driver looking for additional income?
- OVTDTS is looking for individuals that have a passion to teach the next generation of commercial truck drivers.
- This position is with OVTDTS to work at the Belmont College Truck Driving Academy. The person hired for this position will not be an employee of Belmont College.
Qualifications:
- · Three (3) Years Verifiable Experience Driving Class “A” Semi Tractor-Trailer Vehicle within the past ten (10) years
- · Possess a valid Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License
- · Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
- · Pass a DOT Medical Examination
- · Pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screen and Random Drug Screens after Hire
- · Pass a BCI and FBI Criminal Background Check Via State and Federal Fingerprint Review
- · High School Diploma or equivalent
- · Possess a State of Ohio CDL Driver Training Instructor License, or the ability to obtain this license (Class A and Class B)
- Successfully complete the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s On-line Sexual Harassment Training.
Duties:
- · Instructors are responsible for training inexperienced drivers in road operation, maneuvering skills, and pre-trip inspection in preparation for the CDL examinations and to enter the transportation industry as safe, proficient entry-level CDL drivers.
- · Instructor duties consist of daily attendance recording, skills demonstrations, driver instruction, student skill evaluations, end-of-training-day verbal explanation of weaknesses/strengths of operational performance, daily grading in all phases of semi tractor-trailer operation to include Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Vehicle Inspections.
- · Occasional weekend work for student testing.
- · Participate in OVTDTS sponsored Safety Training as required.
- · Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the OVTDTS Employee Handbook.
- · Know and understand the Belmont Code of Conduct for Students
- · Other duties as assigned.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Compensation is based on initial qualifications. OVTDTS currently offers two (2) weeks paid time off each year.
